Don Wilson - May 17, 1971

May 17, 1971 vs. San Diego (Dave Roberts)

The Astros broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Joe Morgan's double scored Jesus Alou and Jack Hiatt. Cesar Cedeno followed with a single scoring Morgan.  The Astros added two more in the seventh on a Cedeno single that scored Roger Metzger and a Denis Menke double that scored Cedeno.

Cedeno and Morgan each had three hits, but the real story of this game was Wilson. He took a no-hitter into the eighth. He retired Ivan Murrell to start the inning, but Ed Spiezio broke it up with a double.  Leron Lee drove him in with a double to break up the shutout bid.
