1981 Men's Tennis - Flushing Meadows Tournament

I'm playing five fictional tournaments with the top 32 ranked players of 1981. Players will be re-seeded after each round and re-ranked after each tournament using the points system described below.  The first tournament takes place on the hard courts at Flushing Meadows, New York

Players will receive 3 points for every set won, 3 points for appearing in a tournament final, and 3 additional points for winning a tournament. Players begin this project with points based on their rankings - John McEnroe starts with 32 points, Ivan Lendl with 31 points, etc.

Latest 1937 results (including Belmont Stakes)

Just a bare bones recap of my latest results.

Bay Meadows Handicap
Seabiscuit wins by 9 lengths over Mickeys Man. Don Roberto finished a length behind Mickeys Man and a half  length ahead of Exhibit for third.

Illinois Derby
Dellor finishes 3 lengths ahead of Case Ace and 4.5 ahead of Heelfly.

Withers Stakes
Flying Scot wins by 4 lengths over Melodist and 5.5 over Mosawtre.

Acorn Stakes
Dawn Play finishes 4.5 ahead of Royal Raiment and 6 ahead of Allowance.

Suburban Handicap
Snark crosses the wire 4.5 lengths ahead of Esposa and 7 ahead of Memory Book.

Coaching Club American Oaks
Dawn Play blew away this field winning by 20 lengths over Rouge Et Noir. Drawbridge finished third.  Royal Raiment, after finishing only 4.5 behind Dawn Play at the Acorn Stakes, finished dead last more than 30 lengths behind the winner.

Belmont Stakes
What a doozie this one was. War Admiral came ready to claim his Triple Crown, but Flying Scot was equal to the task of running with the great champion. After 12 blazing furlongs, it's a photo finish! And the winner - by a head - War Admiral! A great race.

1937 Preakness

War Admiral led this race from the start to the finish crossing the wire 4.5 lengths ahead of Flying Scot and 6 ahead of Pompoon. Time 1:53.8
