1975 Cardinals vs Giants (NFL)

1975 Cards 1975 Giants

St. Louis 31
New York  28

Cards nearly blow 24 point lead as Morton ditched the running game and started throwing the ball all over the field and score19 21 fourth quarter points. They recovered two onsides kick at advance all the down to the Cardinal 28 near the end of the game. With a better kicker, maybe they play it safe and set up the tying foeld goal, but they their kicker is really shaky, so they tried to get closer only to see Morton get sacked for a 10 yard loss. On the following play, Morton completed pass to the Cardinal 22, but time expired.

Otis and Metcalf were outstanding for the Cards while Hart was very efficient.

I forgot to save the boxscore and don't have the scoring summary, but here are some key stats.

Leaders
Rushing (Att-Yds)
   StL - Terry Metcalf 15-114 2 TDs, Jim Otis 18-83 1TD

1962-63 NHL game 20

Montreal at New York

After sleep-walking through their prior games in this mini-replay, the Habs finally get a win. Their first period offensive explosion came from the very unlikely stick of defenseman Lou Fontinato. With all their struggles, they should be happy to get it from anywhere.

1974-75 Houston Aeros mini-season

Even though I still have not finished the 1962-63 mini-replay I started 4 years ago, I have decided to start another mini-replay. This one will feature 20 games with the 1974-75 Houston Aeros. I start with a home game against the less than stellar Chicago crew.

Despite being a poor matchup on paper, obviously the Chicago boys acquitted themselves well finishing with a 3rd period flourish to earn the tie. A disappointing result for the Aeros.
