1911 Red Sox 012 100 00- 4 8 1
The Red Sox scored the first four runs of the game against Plank and the World Champs from Philly. Nunamaker's single scored Clyde Engle to give the Sox a 1-0 lead in the second.
Two errors by A's shortstop Jack Barry allowed the Sox to extend the lead with a couple of unearned runs in the fourth.
Joe Wood's homer - yep Joe Wood - gave the Sox a 4-0 lead in the fourth.
The A's finally made it interesting in the top of the eighth. An error by Engle set the stage for three unearned runs off Wood. Ed Karger relieved Wood in the ninth to get the save.
