Astros (Donne Wall) at Cubs (Frank Castillo)
The Cubs scored first in the bottom of the fifth when Scott Servais came home on a Leo Gomez double. In the sixth Mark Grace scored on a Sammy Sosa double.
Ricky Gutierrez scored the Astros first run in the top of the seventh on a Craig Biggio sac fly. Derek Bell tied the game with a sac fly plating Bill Spiers.
The tie did not last long. Scott Servais led off the bottom of the inning by crushing a Xavier Hernandez pitch into the bleachers.
The Astros had a bit of a chance in the ninth when Jeff Bagwell doubled with two out, but Turk Wendell retired Derek Bell for the save.
