The second game of the NY-Detroit series was eerily reminiscent of the first for the Red Wings as they had another disastrous second period. Detroit started well enough taking a 1-0 lead in the first on a Val Fonteyne goal, but the Rangers owned the second period. The shots were about even, but the Rangers found the net 3 times to take a 3-1 lead. Fonteyne added another third goal in the third, but the Red Wings could get no closer. Rangers win this one 4-2 and take both games of the series.
